I used to eat a lot of burgers, and so nowadays, I’m very picky about my burgers. Based on my experience, homemade burger joints around in California are usually the best (so much better than your usual fast food places). And during my visit, there’s this one burger joint that I keep coming back to. No, it’s not In-n-Out.
A friend of mine introduced me to this joint a while back. Pearl’s Deluxe Burger has several locations in California, the original located in San Francisco, on the same block where my friend lived. This place wins awards from time to time, having one of the best burger in San Francisco. They come in different variety of combinations, but share the same essence, a burger should have real meat inside. You can pick to upgrade to buffalo meat or Kobe meat, which is a must for me since it’s actually healthier and juicier and the same time (I wonder how), for an extra $4. Their sweet potato fries is another thing that’s hard to find in a burger place, and oh boy, they’re really delicious, especially for my South East Asian tongue. If you have a sweet tooth, they also provide a different type of smoothies that are both refreshing and fulfilling, I recommend trying their blackforest smoothie.
